Who we are…

McCrimmon and Reid is a growing family-owned business with a dedicated team of industry professionals led by Alan Haughie, the driving force behind the imaginative and innovative seasonal menus that set the company apart from its competitors. 

Having grown up in Hampshire, Alan then set off to work at The Savoy in London, aspiring to learn from the best and serve classic cuisine of the highest quality. 

His time in London saw him serve under many renowned chefs in many well-known London kitchens, such as Brasserie St Quentin in Knightsbridge and Patterson’s in Mayfair; he then set off to Europe as a private chef .

In 2008 he returned to England to take up a position at Lainston House and then, to his first head-chef position, at Hotel Terravina, in the New Forest. After 2 years of developing his approach to modern British cooking he moved back to the Test Valley and The Greyhound in Stockbridge, gaining the much-coveted Michelin Guide Pub of the Year award. 

The philosophy of McCrimmon & Reid is to bring refined and innovative restaurant quality food to any location, for any number of guests.
